River Ridge Stables

Summer Camp at River Ridge Stables is a fun packed week full of horse activities that kids are sure to love! Kids learn about responsibility, gain confidence, make friends, and of course ride horses! Personal attention and safety are made priority by limiting enrollment to 6 students per camp session and using knowledgeable and patient riding instructors.  Each camper also has their very own horse for the whole camp that they learn to care for and ride everyday! Every camper receives an informational camp book for reference and for documenting their experiences and they also get a free River Ridge Stables T-shirt!

Activities

• 2 Hours of Horseback Riding Instruction every day, Western or English style
• Hands-on Lectures on horse breeds and colors, different riding disciplines,    grooming, stable management, horse anatomy, horse nutrition, horse show preparation, and many others
•  Horse related Arts and Crafts
• Field Trips to other horse facilities
• Horse Show on Friday so campers can show-off what they've learned 

Pricing

• Total cost is $450, and a $100 deposit is required for reservations.
• Before and After care is available from 7am to 8am and 4pm to 6pm for $10 per hour per day.
• Campers are invited to bring their own horse, for an additional $60 for the week, which includes a stall with bedding and hay. Grain must be provided by owner.
  

*Monday is the day we decorate and tie dye our shirts, make homemade horse treats and do a fun arts and craft!

*Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are Field Trip Days! The morning will be spent riding and in the afternoons we will visit either Purina Longview Animal Nutrition Center , Longmeadow Rescue Ranch , or Grant's Farm. 

Daily Schedule

8:00           Drop Off

8:00-10:30    Groom horses, tack up and ride

10:30-11:00   Un-tack horses and cool out     11:00-12:00  Lunch (not provided)

12:00-12:30   Hands on horse lecture

12:30-3:30    Field Trip(except Mon & Fri)

3:30-4:00    Help feed horses and get ready for pick up

*Friday is Horse Show Day! The entire morning will be spent teaching campers how to organize for a horse show and get their horses show ready. The horse show starts at 1:00pm! Student's parents, family, and friends are all invited to attend and relax at the farm. We will have a fun BBQ and refreshments available!
